Musculoskeletal Manifestations of COVID-19: A Systematic Search and Review

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) started its journey around the world from Wuhan, China and gradually became a pandemic.COVID-19 often affects respiratory system, but symptoms may include fatigue, myalgia, arthralgia, arthritis, spine andbone pain as presenting complaints. In present systematic search review, we aim to highlight musculoskeletalmanifestations during COVID-19.PubMed Central Google Scholar engines were searched for key words “muscle pain”, “joint “body ache”,and “fatigue”, in Covid-19 patients.After screening, total of 76 articles dated between January 1 July 1, 2020 met inclusion criteria included inthe study. All published English comprising 36,558 COVID-19 cases. cross-sectional studies, fatigue wasfound 55%, myalgia 26%, arthralgia 20% cases, respectively. cohort was found 35%, myalgiain 15%, 5%, Sporadic case reports also mention back pain, bone myositis, arthritis aspresenting COVID-19.Fatigue most frequent musculoskeletal (MSK) manifestation followed by joint pain. Thefrequency different MSK manifestations vary widely among geographic regions.MSK like are patients countries.
